About This Project
Empowering Women in AWS Cloud
The future of technology is in the cloud, and we believe that women deserve a place in it. The Tech Mavens initiative was born out of a simple but powerful mission: to bridge the gender gap in cloud computing and help women see technology as an enabler, not a barrier.
Cloud computing is one of the fastest-growing fields in the world, with companies constantly searching for skilled AWS (Amazon Web Services) professionals. However, women remain significantly underrepresented in this space. The lack of access, resources, and mentorship often prevents them from exploring cloud-related careers.
With Tech Mavens, we set out to change that.
Throughout the program, participants learned:
- The basics of AWS Cloud and how businesses are leveraging it today.
- Hands-on cloud computing skills, making them job-ready.
- How to use AWS services to host websites, store data, and automate tasks.
- Steps to kickstart a cloud career—from certifications to job applications.
For many of the women who joined, it was their first time interacting with cloud technology—but by the end, they weren’t just learners; they were confident, inspired, and ready to take on the tech world.
The success stories from Tech Mavens prove that when given the right resources and support, women can excel in any tech field. The cloud is the future, and at WTech Africa, we’re making sure that women are not just part of it—but are leading the way.
