At WTech Africa, we are not just talking about change—we are actively working to raise the next generation of female tech leaders by making STEM education accessible, exciting, and empowering. STEM education is about more than just coding—it’s about empowering young minds to dream bigger, think critically, and see technology as a tool to create their future. At WTech Africa, we are committed to building a generation of fearless, innovative, and ambitious young women who will lead the future of tech.
Tech in Slum was more than just a training program—it was a lifeline. It proved that no woman should be left behind in the digital age. Technology is for everyone, and at WTech Africa, we are committed to making that a reality.
Project Overviews
At WTech Africa, we believe that the future of technology belongs to everyone, but to make that future a reality, we need to start early—especially when it comes to young girls. Many girls never even consider a career in technology because they aren’t exposed to the
possibilities from a young age. They don’t see women in tech, so they don’t think they can be one. That’s why we launched the STEM Initiative—an outreach program where we visit secondary schools to engage with young girls, introducing them to the endless opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). We’re not just teaching about tech careers; we’re changing mindsets and breaking barriers
During our school visits, we:
- Introduce students to different careers in technology, from cybersecurity to software development, AI, cloud computing, and beyond.
- Share real-life stories of women in tech, so young girls can see role models who look like them.
- Debunk myths about tech being "too difficult" or "only for men."
- Provide hands-on activities, giving students a chance to experience the power of technology themselves.
