Technology has the power to transform lives—but only if people have access to it.
For many women in underserved communities, the digital world is a distant reality. Basic digital skills—the kind most people take for granted—are often out of reach due to lack of resources, education, and economic barriers. At WTech Africa, we saw this gap and asked ourselves: How do we bring tech to the people who need it the most? That’s how Tech in Slum was born.
Project Overviews
This initiative was designed to empower underprivileged women in marginalized communities, giving them the tools, skills, and confidence to step into the digital economy.
For many of the women who participated, this was their first introduction to technology. They walked in uncertain and hesitant but left empowered, knowledgeable, and ready to embrace digital tools.
Through Tech in Slum, we provided:
Basic computer literacy training—because understanding technology starts with knowing how to use it.
Essential digital skills to help women apply for jobs, work remotely, or start online businesses.
Nullam quis sapien fermentum, sagittis est vel
Hands-on training on using technology for financial independence, from social media marketing to online entrepreneurship.
A safe and encouraging learning environment where women could ask questions, explore new possibilities, and gain confidence in their abilities.
Tech in Slum was more than just a training program—it was a lifeline. It proved that no woman should be left behind in the digital age. Technology is for everyone, and at WTech Africa, we are committed to making that a reality.
